Saree and the culture of India

 


Saree is a very famous Indian traditional dress that every Indian woman wears. The reason for wearing a saree is to show some respect towards our culture and traditions. In every part of India you can see women wearing saree but the difference is between the ways of wearing it. Saree shows the dignity of a woman.

The concept of saree is not new we can see sarees in many old manuscripts like in The Vedas. Saree has its own significant value in the eyes of women. From a traditional function to a meeting a saree can do justice with every occasion. 

Every generation of woman loves the saree it does not depend whether they are Indians or not. Saree it getting the appreciation from everyone in this world now we can see many fashion shows based on saree or on Indian ethnic wear.

Well India has its own value in the world regarding their culture and traditions as the world getting the knowledge about it. This is all possible because people are eager to learn about different culture and traditions. Appreciating a culture for its own believes and a value doesn’t sound wrong to me.

If we talk about the way of wearing a saree so there are more than 80 ways to wear a saree as I said it, the way of wearing a saree changes in India by the time or by the distance. But the most famous or normal way of wearing a saree is to wrap it around the waist with the loose end of the drape to be worn over the shoulder, baring the midriff. However, the sari can be draped in several different styles, though some styles do require a sari of a particular length or form

If you visited in different places in India you will see the difference between their cultures and believes and thus you can see the change in their way of carrying their clothes. There is so much kind of sarees available, the kind of saree always depend on the kind of occasion. There are many kinds of saree but the most important or famous of them is these cotton saree, Paithani saree, kanjivaram silk saree, Banarasi silk saree.

Why silk saree is famous between women

If we talk about the reason why silk saree is famous between every age group of women, it is because the way that it looks when anyone wears it. The embroidery work on it is done by hands and that is the most fascinating thing about these sarees although their pallu is also very good and has Mughal art imprinted on it. All the embroidery work is done by hands on this saree and takes a lot to time to make these saree that why they are so expensive in terms of price. As there are many kind of silk saree now I will give you a brief about every kind.

Paithani saree

There are many kind of silk saree famous in India according to their design and style. As every saree has its own value Paithani silk saree is famous for it’s his hand work of silk, zari pallu and border and this saree is also different because of his unique weaving technique and mostly found in the Maharashtra region.

Kanjivaram Saree

This type of saree is handcrafted and famous for its durability and for its fabric as the saree is made of three Silk threads twisted together with the silver wire. Usually, a Kanjivaram saree can be as heavy as 2 kilos and mostly found in the south india.

Banarasi saree

Banarasi saree is mostly found in the very famous city of the country Banaras or Varanasi. It has Mughal art printed on it and very difficult to carry for a women as it is too heavy because of its excellent embroidery of gold and silver.
